Coleman was raised in the town of Blackpool in Lancashire. She attended Arnold School in Blackpool. In her time as headgirl, she scored straight A grades for her A-Levels. In a discussion about her Emmerdale role, Coleman said that she regrets not having had a typical college experience. Coleman participated in a club named In Yer Space at her school. The group presented Crystal Clear in Edinburgh Festival. The award was presented to her for her performance, and the production was also well-received. Coleman got the Emmerdale part of Jasmine Thomas after auditioning with the drama school. In 2007 Coleman was nominated for two awards. Coleman received two nominations in 2007 for Best Newcomer in the British Soap Awards; and the most Popular Newcomer for the National Television Awards. In 2009, the British Soap Awards 2009 nominated Coleman for both category of Best Actress - Sexiest Feminine and Best Dramatic Performance category. Coleman was nominated for Best Actress by the TV Choice Awards. On 21 March 2012 Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat announced at a press event that Coleman would be the companion of the Doctor alongside Matt Smith after Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have left the show. Moffat has decided to choose her for the role as she had the most chemistry Smith. Additionally, she was more quickly than he does. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She's been on the scene for more than 30 years and is associated in numerous TV and film projects. However, she is better known for TV projects instead of films. Eva was in a number of roles on television, but two stand out: the Dr. Maria Santos' role in All My Children as well as the character of Detective Natalia Boavistas for CSI Miami. Her first TV role earned the show two Daytime Emmy nominations, and helped her develop the love of music in her. Eva is, along with acting, is an entrepreneur and philanthropist. She is a thrice-married woman with a daughter by her second partner.
